Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
Better Golf Miami (“Better Golf Miami,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit BetterGolfMiami.com, use the Better Golf Miami app, contact us, book golf instruction, purchase lessons or services, or otherwise interact with us. The Better Golf Miami website and app are offered to people in the United States.
Information We Collect
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you book a lesson, make a purchase, submit a contact form, communicate with us, or otherwise use our website. This information may include your name, email address, telephone number, booking information, lesson preferences, and other information you choose to provide.
If you take lessons, Justin may record video and sound of your swing during lessons and practice sessions (the sound can pick up conversation) and save lesson details with those videos, such as the camera angle, his drawings, position marks and captions. Students do not upload videos to us.
When you make a payment, payment information is processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Better Golf Miami does not need to directly store your complete credit or debit card information in order to process your payment.
We may also automatically collect certain technical information when you use our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring pages, and general website usage information. Cookies and similar technologies may be used to operate the website, understand how visitors use it, improve performance, and support marketing or analytics features where applicable.
The Better Golf Miami App
The Better Golf Miami app (for iPhone and Android, and in your browser at app.bettergolfmiami.com) uses the same account as BetterGolfMiami.com. Besides the information above, the app may collect:
- Location, only while you're using the app, to show distances during a round. It's used on your phone and isn't sent to us or saved.
- Photos you choose, such as a profile photo. The app uses only the photos you pick.
- Your golf data: the rounds, scores, statistics, practice and swing thoughts you record. It's stored with Google Firebase so it's available on your devices. Rounds and thoughts you choose to share are visible to your coach.
- Coaching information: lesson recaps, drills and notes from your lessons. With your permission, Justin may use AI to help draft recaps and suggest drills (see AI Assistance below).
- Notifications and app updates. If you turn on notifications, your phone's notification token is saved with your account so we can send lesson updates. Expo, our notification and app-update service, delivers them. Each time the app opens, it checks with Expo for updates, sending the app's version and a random install ID, plus the error message if the app crashed while opening.
Account sign-in and your golf data are handled by Google Firebase. Lesson, booking and coaching records are kept by our website's hosting provider.
Signing In
You can sign in with your email address and a password, with Google, or with Apple. If you use Google or Apple, they share your name and email address with us. With Apple you can choose to hide your email address; Apple then gives us a private address that forwards our emails to you. When you delete your account, we ask Apple to remove its connection to Better Golf Miami. If you delete it from a device without Sign in with Apple, we tell you how to remove that connection in your Apple settings.
How We Use Information
We may use information collected through the website to provide and schedule golf instruction, process purchases and payments, communicate about bookings, send appointment confirmations or reminders, respond to questions and customer service requests, maintain customer records, improve our website and services, prevent fraud or misuse, comply with legal obligations, and operate Better Golf Miami.
If you choose to receive promotional or marketing communications from us, we may also use your contact information to send information about lessons, programs, promotions, events, or other Better Golf Miami services. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in the communication or by contacting us.
Service Providers and Third Parties
We may share information with trusted third-party service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business and website. These providers may include payment processors, website hosting providers, booking or scheduling services, email or communication providers, analytics providers, and other technology vendors.
These providers also include AI service providers such as OpenAI (see AI Assistance below). We share only the information a provider needs for its service. Service providers that receive personal information from us are required to protect it with the same or equal protection as described in this Privacy Policy.
These companies may process information on our behalf or in connection with the services they provide.
Payments may be processed by Stripe. Information submitted during the payment process may therefore also be subject to Stripe's privacy practices.
We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect Better Golf Miami, our customers, our rights, or the safety of others.
We do not sell personal information to third parties for monetary payment.
AI Assistance (only with your permission)
Justin can use artificial intelligence (AI) to help write your lesson recaps and suggest practice drills. We use OpenAI, an AI service provider, for this. We only do this for students who have said yes in the Better Golf Miami app. Until you say yes, your lesson notes, goals, practice and rounds are never sent to OpenAI. If you book lessons for a junior golfer on your account, your answer covers those lessons. A second golfer in a lesson for two has their own answer.
When you have said yes and Justin asks for an AI draft after one of your lessons, our website sends OpenAI:
- the lesson observations Justin saved for that lesson;
- the goals and current focus Justin keeps for your coaching;
- your practice: the drills currently assigned to you; how many practice sessions you logged and your first and latest scores in the last 90 days; and drill suggestions Justin recently decided not to use;
- statistics from up to 10 rounds you shared with Justin in the last 90 days, such as score to par, putts, fairways and greens hit, penalties and where shots missed. Rounds aren't sent if you turned round sharing off.
We don't send your name, email address, phone number or account details with these requests. Before anything is sent, we automatically remove email addresses, phone numbers and the names saved for the students in the lesson (on their profiles and bookings, written with or without accents) from the text. A nickname, a very short name, or a junior golfer's name that isn't saved with us, may not be caught. Justin's private notes, your practice reflections, your swing thoughts, course names and hole-by-hole details are never sent. Justin reviews and edits every draft and suggestion before you see anything.
We send these requests to OpenAI with storage turned off, so OpenAI doesn't save them for later use. Under OpenAI's terms for business customers, OpenAI doesn't use them to train its models. OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse and then deletes them, unless the law requires it to keep them longer or it needs them to prevent harm.
You can say no, or change your answer at any time, in the app under Profile → AI help with your recaps. If you say no, Justin writes your recaps without AI and nothing more is sent to OpenAI. Changing your answer doesn't change recaps already written. When you delete your account, your answer is deleted with it.
Cookies and Analytics
BetterGolfMiami.com may use cookies and similar technologies to make the website function properly, understand website traffic and usage, remember preferences, and improve the customer experience.
Some third-party services integrated into the website may also place or access cookies according to their own privacy policies.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect how some parts of the website function.
Data Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
However, no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, meet legal or accounting requirements, and operate our business.
Information that is no longer reasonably necessary may be deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
Lesson Videos
Lesson videos are used to coach you. They are visible only to your account and to Justin, after he publishes your lesson recap or shares them with you. You can save or share your own copies from the app; copies you share are outside our control.
We use your videos in marketing only if you turn on “OK to use my swing videos in Better Golf Miami marketing” in the app. You can turn it off at any time; material already published may remain.
Videos are stored with our website hosting provider and kept until Justin deletes them or you delete your account. Videos of a child are kept under the parent's or guardian's account, and the parent controls saving, sharing and the marketing choice.
Swing videos that Justin records of himself and other golfers for his model-swing library belong to Better Golf Miami and are not part of a student's account. Students can watch the ones Justin chooses to show in the app, with the golfer's name.
If you would rather not be recorded, or would rather sound not be recorded, tell Justin before or during your lesson or practice session.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the Better Golf Miami app under Profile → Account details → Delete account. You can also review account deletion at BetterGolfMiami.com/delete-account and complete it in the Better Golf Miami web app without installing anything. You will sign in again and review unused lesson and referral credits before confirming. Account deletion removes your profile, contact information, personal coaching and golf data (including lesson videos, comparisons and your filming and marketing choices), and your AI help choice. Video files are erased from storage right away, with automatic retries if storage is briefly unavailable. Unused credits are forfeited; deletion does not automatically issue a refund. Upcoming committed lessons, unresolved payments and linked-account issues must be resolved first. You can also email BetterGolfMiami@gmail.com from your account email for help.
After deletion, limited payment, refund and past-lesson accounting records are kept for seven years from the deletion date, then purged by our scheduled cleanup. Direct contact details are removed from these records and replaced by a random accounting reference. Restricted payment references may still link to records held by our payment provider. Minimal opaque account identifiers prevent account recreation during retries, and a deletion support log records progress. Payment and email providers may retain their own records under their policies. Confirmation email addresses and messages are used transiently and are not saved in our deletion support log.
Your Information
You may contact Better Golf Miami if you would like to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you.
Certain information may need to be retained for legitimate business, accounting, fraud-prevention, contractual, or legal reasons.
Children's Privacy
Better Golf Miami website and app accounts are for people 16 and older.
If a player is younger than 16, a parent or guardian books lessons for them on BetterGolfMiami.com with the parent's or guardian's own account, and provides the booking and contact information.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we may close the account and delete its information.
Third-Party Websites
Our website may contain links to websites or services operated by other companies. Better Golf Miami is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of those services before providing personal information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically as our website, services, or business practices change.
When changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page and the “Last Updated” date will be revised.
